As a native of California I have always loved the history of the cow  horse.  I was lucky enough to have parents that had a deep appreciation  and respect for the traditions of Vaquero horsemanship.  Like many horse  lovers, I was riding before I could walk and would go on to spend every  waking hour with my horses.  However, it wasn’t until much later in  life that I would actually begin showing cow horses and cutters.

My  family raised Crabbet bred Arabians and favored anything sired by Bay  Abi or his early progeny.  Our horses were always used to gather cattle,  work brandings, ride the hills of California, and compete in the show  ring.  Much of my youth was spent riding our family bred Arabians,  Half-Arabians, and Anglo-Arabians in parades throughout California.  We  promoted the versatility of the Arabian horse and traditions of the  Mexican Charro.  A culture of horsemanship very similar to the Vaquero.

I’ve  been fortunate enough to have some amazing cow horses in my life.  They  have fueled my desire to compete and taught me so much.  I’ve won  National Championships on my working cow and reined cow horses as well  my cutters. I’ve been blessed with a wonderful family that has supported  my love for the Arabian cow horse.  I have a husband/trainer and 2 kids  that cheer me on, and a brother/trainer that helps me keep my horses in  great cow shape!

My wife, Kelly and I have five kids and live in Lake Charles, Louisiana  where I am a pastor with Church of the King. We have a small farm with  our half and purebred Arabians and we also raise some commercial cattle.  I grew up in North Dakota and once had the chance to watch Eleanor  Hamilton reining with a purebred grey at the Dakota Classic in Valley  City. It was amazing and impacted greatly how I saw Arabians. Then  later, learning about horses like Khemosabi, Xenophonn, Ronteza, and  Farana solidified my belief that our Arabians were great horses and  could also be great stock horses. This fuels my passion to help the  AWCHA continue in its mission to promote and recognize these great  Arabian stock horses and the people who ride them.

I grew up in Chile, where I rode jumpers and eventers. Then moved to the  States in high school where I also rode dressage. I currently live in  Brighton, Colorado with my husband and daughter. I am a secondary  science teacher and am very active with the local 4H horse program. I am  newer to riding Arabians and doing working cows. Blame it on my  daughter, she would rather chase cows than jump horses. We bought our  first Arabian mare by accident, 11 years ago, and now we own three mares  and a stallion. My husband and I started Jacobucci Arabians, hoping to  breed a few high-quality performance horses. As the Youth Chair, I hope  to find new ways to promote the sport of working cow horse to youth  riders.
